Steam Trade URL: How to Find, Copy & Use Yours

Steam · 4 min read

Your Steam Trade URL is the link people use to send you trade offers without having to be friends on Steam. Every CS2 trading site (Hostadz, Skinport, BUFF, etc.) needs it. This guide walks through finding it, copying it correctly, regenerating it if it's compromised, and a few common mistakes.

Where to find your Trade URL

  1. Open Steam (browser or desktop client) and sign in.
  2. Go to steamcommunity.com/my/tradeoffers/privacy directly, or click your username (top-right) → InventoryTrade OffersWho can send me Trade Offers?
  3. You'll see a section labelled "Third-Party Sites" with a long URL. That's your Trade URL.
  4. Click "Copy" next to it.

What a valid Trade URL looks like

The format is exactly:

https://steamcommunity.com/tradeoffer/new/?partner=NUMBER&token=ALPHANUMERIC

Both partner= and token= must be present. If your copy only has one of them, you copied the wrong link — go back and copy from the "Third-Party Sites" line, not from any of the other links on the page.

How to use it on Hostadz

  1. Sign in to hostadz.com/trade with your Steam account.
  2. Click Trade URL in the header.
  3. Paste the full URL into the input.
  4. Save. Hostadz validates the URL format before accepting it — if it's malformed you'll see an error.

Regenerating it (security)

Anyone who has your Trade URL can send you trade offers. They cannot take items without your approval — Steam still requires you to manually accept every incoming offer. But if your URL gets pasted into spam or a malicious site, you'll get harassed by junk offers. To regenerate:

  1. Same page (/my/tradeoffers/privacy).
  2. Click "Create New URL".
  3. The old URL is invalidated immediately. Update it on every trading site you use.

Common mistakes

FAQ

Does my Trade URL expire? No, it stays valid forever unless you click "Create New URL".

Can someone steal my items with just my Trade URL? No — they can only send trade offers. You still have to accept each one.

Can I have multiple Trade URLs? No, Steam allows exactly one Trade URL per account at a time. Generating a new one invalidates the old.

My Trade URL gets rejected as "invalid" — why? Most often you copied a Steam Group invite URL or your profile URL by mistake. The valid URL must contain both partner= and token=.

Ready to trade? Open hostadz.com/trade, sign in with Steam, paste your Trade URL, and pick a skin from the bot's inventory.
